ISL Season 3 set to kick off

Brendon Smith and Jacob Whittle are set to compete for the Breakers in 2021

The International Swimming League (ISL) is set to kick off for 2021 with a series of intense and frenetic duels, with each of the 10 franchises competing in 4 matches in the regular season. The first match is on August 26 in Naples, Italy.

A handful of F-Teamers have been successful in this year's draft and having been named across the 10 rosters. Some of these athletes are fresh off the plane from the Tokyo Olympic Games with others looking to get much needed international race experience before World Short Course Championships in December. All of them have a point to prove with pride on the line for their respective franchises.

Rio Olympian Travis Mahoney is the only F-Teamer set to feature in match one, with team Energy Standard looking to improve on their second-place efforts from last season. Match two is primed to feature the champions from 2020, the Cali Condors, up against the NY Breakers who are set to be the funkiest team in the league. Funky Trunks is excited to support the NY Breakers again this season by supplying the team with swimwear and training gear.

F-Teamers Jacob Whittle and Brendon Smith are happy to be returning to the NY Breakers this season. Whittle, the 16-year-old British sprint sensation, is eyeing off more international racing after his successful maiden Olympic Games. Smith is now somewhat of a veteran after recent medal success at the Tokyo Olympics, with the 400 IM specialist set to improve on his 4th place in Washington in Season 1.

Zac Incerti of London Roar, will open his account in match three, with the Roar eyeing off an improvement from 3rd last year. The dual medalist from Tokyo is versatile in the pool, making him a favourable asset to his franchise.

With team points up for grabs, these F-Teamers are all too aware that it is more than just personal and international pride on the line.
